Reservation and Cancellation Policy

The following terms and conditions apply to reservations made by individuals, unless a separate specific agreement has been made.

Reservation and Confirmation

When making a reservation, the customer must provide their name, residential address, arrival and departure times, and payment method. A reservation binds the accommodation facility once it has been confirmed verbally, in writing, or, for example, by email.

A reservation made by the customer is binding when they have received a confirmation and a reservation confirmation number via email from Kulkuri Hostels Ltd.’s reservation system. The reservation system provides an automatic confirmation of the agreed services, prices, and cancellation terms.

Arrival and Departure at the Hostel

The room is available for the customer from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 12:00 PM on the day of departure, unless otherwise agreed.

Cancellations and No-Shows

Unless otherwise agreed during the reservation or if the chosen rate or booking time does not involve other conditions, cancellation must be made at least 5 days before the check-in time. If you do not show up, Kulkuri Hostels Ltd. has the right to charge you the full price of the reservation including taxes and any other related additional services.

Guest Behaviour in the Hostel

Hostel guests must adhere to the hostel’s rules. The rules are also displayed in the hostel rooms.

Guests must behave in a manner that does not disturb other hostel guests. If a guest behaves disruptively or significantly neglects their duties, they can be removed from the hostel without prior warning, and they will not be entitled to a refund or compensation for any payments made.

The costs of any alerts and other expenses resulting from a breach of the rules will always be borne by the person who caused the alert or, ultimately, the contact person of the reservation. For frivolous or prank contacts that lead to actions or emergency visits, we will charge the costs incurred from the person who made the report (or the contact person).

For emergency visits to the hostel caused by the guest’s own error or negligence, we will charge the guest for all costs incurred from the visit.

The guest (or ultimately the contact person specified during the reservation) is responsible for damages they cause to the hostel or a third party. Guests are required to compensate for any property they willfully or negligently damage or unlawfully remove from the hostel premises.

Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas of the hostel. Smoking can trigger an automatic fire alarm. The person who smoked in the hostel premises (or ultimately the contact person of the reservation) is responsible for all the costs of the alarm, maintenance, and cleaning resulting from smoking.

Liability for Guest’s Property

The hostel is not responsible for the guest’s property.

Parking areas are not monitored, and Kulkuri Hostels Ltd. is not responsible for any property left there.

Force Majeure

Force Majeure is considered to include, but is not limited to, water damage, freezing damage, fire, accident, illegal and legal strikes, natural disasters, interruption of energy distribution, power outages, water and sewage problems, heating problems, interruption of telecommunications, and maintenance, repair, or other works by third parties.

A Force Majeure affecting Kulkuri Hostels Oy’s partners or subcontractors is also considered a reason for exemption from liability for Kulkuri Hostels Oy.

Cancellation of Reservation

If Kulkuri Hostels Oy cannot provide the Accommodation to the Customer due to the aforementioned Force Majeure, Kulkuri Hostels Oy may unilaterally cancel the reservation.

The customer will be notified of the cancellation in writing as soon as possible, and all payments made by the customer will be refunded promptly, without interest or fees.
